Who it's for

Three ways into the Diploma

Career switcher

Move into an AI-shaped role.

You're stepping into roles like AI Optimisation Writer, AI Data Analyst, Customer Experience Manager, or AI Operations Manager. The Diploma gives you a nationally recognised qualification and a portfolio of applied work to show employers — not just a certificate of attendance.

Corporate upskiller

Make AI a real capability in your role, not a topic.

You're a specialist, manager, or owner working outside ICT. You don't need to learn to code — you need to apply AI to the work you're already responsible for. The Diploma is built for non-ICT professionals who want practical, applied AI competency.

Sponsored employee

Your employer pays, you build the qualification.

One of our most common arrangements. We bill the business directly, provide progress reports to L&D / HR, and supply the procurement paperwork (capability statement, ABN, GST treatment, PO process) corporate teams need.

Delivery chain

How the Diploma is delivered

The course is owned by The Digital Technology Academy (CO10636) — the accreditation body that built the qualification. Training Worx Australia (RTO 52508) is our delivery partner: the registered training organisation responsible for delivering, assessing, and issuing the nationally recognised AQF certification documentation. Matiu Rudolphprovides the mentor support and applied-skills coaching — the connective tissue between the qualification framework and the work you do the next day.

Outcomes

What you walk away with

A nationally recognised AQF Level 5 qualification. 11287NAT Diploma of Artificial Intelligence (AI), accredited 29 July 2024 to 28 July 2029. Recognised by employers and educational institutions across Australia.
1,260 hours of structured learning. 720 supervised hours plus 540 self-directed. Volume of learning to deliver real competency, not a quick certificate.
Eight nationally recognised competencies. Prompt engineering, content production, data and forecasting, digital presence, business operations, customer experience, AI ethics, and applying AI / ML / deep learning.
A portfolio of applied AI work. Case studies, prompts plans, research reports, and reflections submitted under the qualification's assessment framework. Real artefacts you can show employers and clients.
Recognition of prior learning available. If you already have AI experience, Training Worx assesses RPL on a per-learner basis — a faster pathway to the same qualification.
A pathway to roles like AIO Writer, CX Manager, AI Data Analyst, or AI Operations Manager. Or applying AI to a business you already own. The Diploma maps to ANZSCO 261111 (ICT Business Analyst) for HR / payroll classification.

The course is owned by The Digital Technology Academy (CO10636) and is delivered, assessed, and certified by Training Worx Australia (RTO 52508).
How long does it take?
12 months blended. The volume of learning is 1,260 hours — 720 supervised plus 540 self-directed. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) can shorten this for experienced learners.
What does it cost?
$5,995 per learner, GST-free (accredited courses are GST-exempt). Employer-paid arrangements are common. We can provide a quote, capability statement, and engagement letter for procurement.
Do I need any prerequisites?
No formal prerequisites. Year 11 (or equivalent) is recommended, not essential. You'll need a computer with internet access. No programming background required — this isn't an engineering qualification.
Who is the Diploma actually for?
Business professionals working outside ICT — specialists, managers, owners, and career switchers — who want practical, applied AI competency. Graduates pursue roles like AI Optimisation Writer, Customer Experience Manager, Data and AI Sales Specialist, AI Ethicist, AI Data Analyst, AI Operations Manager, AI Talent Acquisition Manager, or apply AI to a business they already run.
What units does it include?
Eight core units, no electives, all must be completed: prompt engineering for generative AI, content production with AI, data analysis and forecasting, digital presence optimisation, business operations, customer experience, critical thinking and AI ethics, and identifying opportunities to apply AI / ML / deep learning. Seven units are owned by The Digital Technology Academy; the eighth (ICTAII401) is from the Commonwealth ICT Training Package.
Can my employer pay?
Yes. This is one of our most common arrangements. We bill the business directly, provide progress reports to the sponsor, and supply procurement paperwork — ABN, GST treatment, capability statement, PO process — on request.
Is government funding available?
Eligibility for funding (VET Student Loans, employer-paid arrangements, state subsidies) varies by individual and state. Training Worx Australia advises learners on funding options at enrolment.
Where is it delivered?
Online learning is available Australia-wide through Training Worx Australia's platform. Periodic in-person workshops are held in Perth or arranged regionally for cohorts.
